New For 2021

Hello Everyone

Hope you are all well and managing to cope in these strange times.

I don’t normally write blog posts but I thought I would try something new this year.

The shop has taken a bit of a change through covid and we have had to adapt to new ways of operating.

We have decided to improve the shop side of the business this year. More Fabrics, new patterns and lot of handmade gifts. We will also be putting more Frenchic Goodies in to the shop.

Unfortunately this means I will no longer be doing Bridal Alterations but we will be doing general garment and soft furnishings.

We are working the the website everyday to make it easier to use and buy from but this takes time so I hope it working for you.

There are some exciting new fabrics arriving soon and Tilly and Button Patterns are on the way. Exciting times ahead.

Lets keep making and creating.

Three ladies came to our beginners bunting workshop.

Firstly they learnt how to thread the sewing machine, wind a bobbin on and how to insert the bobbin into the machines.

Next they went on to sew straight lines, practised zig zag stitching and pivoting. These are ways of getting to know what your machine can do. Once they were happy and confident we set about doing the fun bit, creating bunting.

Here are pictures of the fantastic bunting the ladies made.

Sparkling  Thursday

Hope you’re all well on this very hot Thursday. Working upstairs at Mrs Sew n Sew on a day like this is hard. It gets very muggy up there and we’re just about to have an ice lolly break. 😊

Before that I thought I would share my work with you today.

I’m hand sewing this gorgeous heavy beaded lace on to a commission dress I have been working on. The sun is going to bounce of all these lovely crystals.

Beach bag workshop was a blast

We had such a laugh at last nights beach bag workshop. Sewing, chatting, giggles and tea and biscuits were had by all. Everyone completed a great looking beach bag!

These bags are so large you can use them as beach bags ,bags for life or storage baskets.  Even one was being used as a bag to put birthday presents in, instead of wrapping paper.

More bag workshops to come,  keep an eye out on here and Facebook!

Beginners Sewing Workshop Thursday 11th Aug

We run small friendly workshops at Mrs Sew n Sew. Here is our beginners machine sewing workshop photos.

We aim to get you and your machine working as one.  We understand that the first step towards using a sewing machine can be scary but it doesn’t have to be. Come to one of our workshops to meet like minded people,  learn new skills while having a chat and a cuppa.

Visit our workshop page for more details of what we do.
